FifaLeagues Interview

Published by: Snapy on 13/11/2007 at 21:35 pm Page 1 of 1: Pages: 1
Over the past couple of years FifaLeagues.com has been storming the FIFA scene with their easy cash and prize ladder and cup tournaments. We spoke to USA Bolivar 'fifaaddict' Bique-Peterson, the owner and creator of the leagues, to see his plans for the future.

Quote:
Can you introduce your self to the people that don’t know who you are

fifaaddict: Hi all my name is Bolivar "fifaaddict" Bique-Peterson i'm the mastermind behind Fifa Leagues a project started in 2001.

The big question is how did fifaleagues start off?

fifaaddict: Well back in 2001 I entered the FIFA online scene at Fifa Clubs the best and most respected FIFA online ladder at the time. After noticing how they ran the site and ladder I decided to create my own, at first it was really small tournaments and leagues it was funny because I started making Fifa sites on Microsoft word lol really noob at that time. The main reason why I start Fifa leagues was because USA didn't have any online FIFA gaming.

Fifaleagues mainly aimed at USA fifa players?

fifaaddict: At first it was called SuperLeagues then in 2006 I changed the name to Fifa Leagues. The leagues, ladders and tournaments were mainly for international FIFA gamers but the site and project was based out of USA. What made me take Fifa Leagues to the next level was the fact that USA FIFA gamers didn't have a World Cyber Games qualification and I felt that by create Fifa Leagues and other cup sites that it would make the FIFA community grow.

We do see allot of sponsors on your website for many cups and they have been growing lately was money a big issue at the start of creating Fifa leagues?

fifaaddict: At the beginning Fifa Leagues mainly focused on hosting top online tournaments and when the first prize ladder was opened it was only for $25 for the winner, but we had competitive tournaments with prizes this led to more visit on the site and as some of you know the more visitor a site gets the more sponsors and money you are able to make of those stats. Fifa Leagues is looking to grow more and more in the near future we would offer bigger prize cash to the top 10 and host many more tournaments with also opening a new LAN centre in USA Miami, FL.

Clanbase fifaclubs and ESL.fifa are big names when it comes to leagues how did you compete with them at the start?

fifaaddict: When we launched the Superleagues ladder my main goal was only to provide FIFA gamers with more places to play online to make the community bigger yes I did look up to those sites but I didn't look at it like a competition between us, now we can say that Fifa Leagues is a big name in the FIFA gaming world not only because we offer prizes but because of the staff that we have take the time to listen to the players problems and issue. As you can see for yourself Fifa Leagues is easy and user friendly and we are planning to add more features in the future. Clanbase, FifaBlubs and ESL are great sites and they have a great community same with Fifa leagues the only difference is that we are strictly FIFA nothing else.

You spoke about a LAN being setup in USA Miami,FL tell us abit about it and the main purpose of it ?

fifaaddict: This LAN Centre will provide people from the city to come out and play video games but also compete in major tournaments among those competitions we will have FIFA as the main event, FIFA gamer from across the world can attend these events right now the business plan is in effect and we have major sponsors lined up that could provide us with more then $100,000 in cash prizes for this reason top players like the Hero bothers can from USA to play in a competitive FIFA cup for some serious money.

You have also got the fifa ps3 and Xbox360 community involved do you think the ladder will go as big as the PC ladder?

fifaaddict: We decided to add the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 ladder to push Fifa Leagues even more at the moment both ladder are picking up slowly I think is the nest 6 months things will change considering the great feedback we get from the players who already joined the site. Console gaming is very different from PC on console they don't need msn, mirc or emails to contact players it is all done over their voice communication system that it makes it harder for the Xbox 360 and PS3 ladder to kick off like the PC one.

Would you ever think at the start fifaleagues will be this successful, is this just the beginning?

fifaaddict: Yes indeed, I always thinking BIG and start everything in baby’s steps the project took along time to get to where it is at right now. We are looking to add 2v2 and 5v5 clan ladders where top teams get cash prizes too, with the help of Fifa Leagues loyal supporters promoting the name to all their friends I feel that we will grow even more, so yes this is just only the beginning of a great mastermind gaming site we have plenty to come.

Thanks to fifaaddict for his time and we wish him and fifaleagues all the best of luck in the future.
