Just a few moments ago the well known German eSports organization mTw released its latest Call of Duty 4 team fragmovie. The movie is made by ButtonBashers Moviemaker Crew member Boštjan 'shyR' Omahen, known for making movies such as The Slovenian Show and Sui Generis. When I heard he was making a team movie for a lineup like mTw I knew it would be great.
After several months of editing the movie finally got finished and has been released by mTw today. The greatest part of this movie is the soundtrack in my opinion. It is the best choice shyR could of made for his editing style and the kind of frags that mTw gave him. You will see multiple man SMG takedowns and sniper kills combined with great syncing and very nice effects.
I give this movie an 8.7/10 in overall as it is one of the best team movies I have seen so far. In my opinion this movie can compete with VAE VICTIS any day.

The movie isn't anywhere close to VAE VICTIS at all!
not a good movie at all. |
#4 A good point, however shyR has only made 2 movies before he got known, which are the Slovenian Show AND Sui Generis. These 2 movies were enough to get him accepted into the ButtonBashers movie crew so I am not wrong by saying that is why he is known.
You can fanboy VAE Victis all you want but from a moviemaker point of view this is equal to Vae Victis, can say it is better since Chief who made Vae Victis has never done a 3D Model in his life while mTw movie uses several of them, which is the hardest thing to make in COD4 movies at the moment.
Keep in mind that rating a fragmovie is a personal opinion which is why I look at the music in how it is used with the frags and how it was synced with the effects, which is great rather than asking myself 'Am I a fan of this song?'.
The fact that every known moviemaker has rated this movie 8+ shows that it is definitely well made and a top movie, regardless of you liking it or not.
Thanks for your comment though I hope to see many more |
| #5do you really need 3d models to make the movie good :p ? |
No but it definitely shows a new editing level which Chief is yet to explore. If I say this movie can stand next to Vae Victis then I mean this in an editing way and also a team movie feeling way, as tbh I cant think of any other cod4 team movie better than this or Vae Victis, which explains why I compare the two of them.
Hope you are starting to see my point |
| Also I just looked at Vae Victis and it barely had any effects, the best effect I saw was the split screen which shows 2 players. Look at both movies, compare effects, skins, colors, editing style and then come back and say this movie is worse. Ofcourse it is hard to compare since Vae Victis was made before people realised they were able to change the sky and skins etc. |
I would say you have some valid points in what you have written no doubt! However, some of them are par remember Mazarini's movies with some 3d models? And you can't say that a movie needs special effects and super flashy colors pluss skins. This fight can go on forever as we obviously are at two differential sides of the world. the split screen is more than enough effects for me tbh, can't stand flashy colors, über custom skins and what not.
[I blame you for making me use the word 'also' way to much!] |
Obviously Mazarini is one of, if not the best moviemaker in the cod4 scene, everybody knows that.
And yeah you proved my point, you judge a movie entirely on the feeling that you get from it, which is great for yourself but nobody that reads a mini review or so will care about that, people want to read facts, not opinions imo.
thx for the chat, loved every moment of it... |
